Interest Groups
Visit us: Prospective members, interested in joining the Los Gatos-Saratoga Branch of AAUW, are welcome to attend an interest group meeting and a monthly Branch Meeting. Some groups meet all year long.
Some interest groups don't meet during July and August.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Communication is done by email. Meet in person once in the spring to select recipients.
$1,500 scholarships are given to selected recipients. For women students going from West Valley Community College to a four-year college or university with a major in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), or a related field. TECH TREK
Meet in ad hoc on a quarterly basis. Communication handled by email.
Tech Trek is a week of hands-on activities in science, math, and related fields at Stanford University. The girls interact with women whom science, mathematics and computer expertise are part of their daily lives. Interested members are invited to join the committee. Chair: Blenda Mariani,

COMMITTEE ON HOMELESS WOMEN & CHILDREN
Meets 2nd Tuesday of the month, 3 pm.
Works on behalf of homeless families in Santa Clara County. Studies their needs; acts to provide positive support; raises funds to help support shelter programs, the Georgia Travis drop in center, and emergency aid. Volunteers where needed. Welcome new members! Chair:

CONVERSATION IN SPANISH

For those who have completed some study in Spanish, to maintain skill. Open to new members who wish to maintain & improve Spanish skills.

GREAT DECISIONS
Three sessions available in afternoon. All sessions are 8-weeks and begin 1st Thursday in February. (See Grapevine for details.)

HIKES AND WALKS: “Scenic Locations”
Meets 2nd Thursdays of the month 9 am promptly for 12 months a year.
Easy to moderate 4 to 6 mile hikes. Explore parks, open spaces, plants and historical sites. Bring water. Lunch maybe a bag lunch or restaurant treat. (Meet in Los Gatos or Saratoga as noted in the Grapevine.) New members welcome!

HIKES AND WALKS: "Back By Noon"
Every 4th Thursday of the month, 9 am promptly, for 12 months a year.
